Micah White

Micah White is the American creator of the Occupy Wall Street meme and former Adbusters editor.

White has fifteen years of breakthrough campaign experience. In high school he was awarded Americans United's Religious Liberty Award for his "eloquent support of church-state separation" and the ACLU of Michigan's Civil Libertarian of The Year Award. In college he sparked the nationwide Diebold Electronic Civil Disobedience.

He has been profiled by The New Yorker, The Walrus and the alumni magazine of Swarthmore College for his founding role in the Occupy Wall Street movement. After eight years at Adbusters - where he rose from campaigns intern to guest editor, editor and editor-at-large - White is now the founder of Boutique Activist Consultancy and a board member of OccupyWallSt.org.

White has a PhD from the Europäische Universität für Interdisziplinäre Studien (EGS) where he studied with philosophers Slavoj Zizek, Alain Badiou, Avital Ronell, Michael Hardt, and Jacques Ranciere. In 2013, White was a Visiting Scholar at RMCAD in Denver, CO.
