This is a Call to Action for a
Non-Hierarchical Occupation of Monsanto Everywhere
Whether
you like it or not, chances are Monsanto contaminated the food you ate
today with chemicals and GMOs. Monsanto controls much of the world's
food supply at the expense of food democracy worldwide. This site is
dedicated to empowering citizens of the world to take action against
Monsanto during the week of September 17th, 2012.
On 14 October, the net culture institution Public Netbase was served a writ intended to prohibit a work of art. The writ was the result of a lawsuit filed by Nike corporation, with a disputed amount of 78,000 Euros. The space installation "nikeground ? rethinking space" is a joint project of Public Netbase and the renowned art group 0100101110101101.ORG. The renaming of the historic Karlsplatz square in the center of Vienna into Nikeplatz, as suggested by the project, is meant to encourage reflection and public debates. In their work, the authors combine the artistic tradition of mythopoesis with the new culture of communication technologies.

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) was set up on 26th March 2004 to curb
corruption in Bangladesh. It consists of members of Bangladesh Police,
Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy and Bangladesh Air Force. RAB has
increasingly been criticized for the extra judicial killings and
torture that have taken place of people in custody.
After a one year break the DICTIONARY OF WAR continues with a fifth edition on January 25th and 26th, 2008 in Novi Sad, Serbia. Again 25 new concepts on the topic of war will be presented in alphabetical order by artists, theorists, filmmakers, scientists, researchers. Loosely based on the slogan: "At least, when we create concepts, we are doing something" DICTIONARY OF WAR is a collaborative platform for creating concepts.

Activists are using the internet to fight large companies over ethical issues. Yet many major brand-owners lack a clear counter-strategy. Earlier this month a group of environmental activists staged a sit-in at Shell's London offices. Although Shell turned the power off and cut the phone lines, activist Roddy Mansfield broadcast the protest live to the internet and e-mailed the press, using a digital camera, laptop computer and mobile phone.
Dark Markets is a two day strategic conference that looked into the state of the art of media politics, information technologies, and theories of democracy. A variety of international speakers inquired into strategies of oppositional movements and discussed the role of new media.

revolution. The individual has become free, in the most extreme
anarchistic sense, to share ideas. Some of these ideas are shared
behind proxies, darknets, or similar ?closed doors?. Nevertheless, the
ideas are out there. There have been similar instances of such
revolutions of the mind. Their effects on society are inestimably
great. As in past times with the invention of the printing press, so it
is today that the people embrace this revolution, this new ?anarchy? of
freedom to share, while their autocratic rulers seek to crush this
freedom.
