The resource was started in 2008 by David Garcia, Eric Kluitenberg, Michiel van der Haagen, and Ian van Riel, further assisted by Gerbrand Oudenaarden, Adam Hyde, Huub Sanders (IISG) and many other individuals and organisations.

May Day: Art Workers' Pride Visual Archive

This Thursday is May Day, international workers' day.

Across the globe workers will celebrate May Day in various ways, organizing street demonstrations and protest marches in their communities, demanding justice and freedom for all oppressed people.

With this occasion, ArtLeaks will inaugurate a visual archive dedicated to art workers' pride, which will continue to gather material throughout the year.

The Archive: Unveiling the Present 

Framer Framed is proud to present an evening program that focuses on YanukovychLeaks and Videoccupy; two artistic projects respectively from Ukraine and Turkey. The projects are concerned with the notion of archiving in relation to current political issues in these countries.

Archivist, teacher, writer, lecturer and filmmaker. President, Prelinger Associates, Inc., commonly known as Prelinger Archives. Co-founder (with Megan Shaw Prelinger) of the Prelinger Library, an appropriation-friendly reference library in San Francisco.
Founded Prelinger Archives (New York and San Francisco), which at its peak held over 48,000 ephemeral (advertising, industrial, educational, documentary and amateur) films and over 30,000 cans of unedited (raw) footage. The core film collection was acquired in August 2002 by the Library of Congress.
